Market Commentary: Dr. Pangloss Edition

From the MarketBeat "Into the Close" liveblog:

The always optimistic Deutsche Bank economist Joseph LaVorgna is out with a note that says "Believe it or not...the recent data have not been all bad."
Quite true. For example, the data have not revealed an imminent takeover of the planet by evil aliens. Or a new type of disease that falls from the sky and eats your face immediately. So, bright side.
Okay, not exactly Candide's "...all is for the best in this best of all possible worlds." but you have to consider that the blog-post was written on the fly while the Candide bit is from the 1956 libretto inspired by some hack named Voltaire and put together by this crew:

Book by Lillian Hellman
Score by Leonard Bernstein
Lyrics by Richard Wilbur
Other lyrics by John Latouche and Dorothy Parker

On the other hand Dorothy Parker never liveblogged a market meltdown.
